Family
Richard and Marilyn Mendelson met in Burgundy, France in 1977 and have lived around vineyards and wine ever since. Their New World Pinot Noir is the result of Richard's training in Burgundy at Bouchard Aïné et Fils. After stints in France and Marilyn's homeland of Australia, they moved to the Napa Valley in 1986. Richard is a leading wine law attorney and also a metal sculptor in Napa. Marilyn teaches English as a second language to vineyard workers in the Napa Valley.
Their children, Margot (pictured to the left with Marilyn) and Anthony, were raised in the Napa Valley with close ties to the family business. Margot is a writer and lawyer; along with her father, she has written extensively on the subject of wine law. Anthony has worked at Beringer and Harlan Estate and is now working at Google in San Francisco.
